The answer is x=35




Check the solution by substituting 35 in the original equation for x. If the left side of the equation equals the right side of the equation after the substitution, you have found the correct answer.

Since the left side of the original equation equals the right side of the original equation after you substitute 35 for x, then 35 is a solution.





You can also check your solution by graphing the function

The above function is formed by subtracting the right side of the original equation from the left side of the original equation. The x-intercept of the graph is the solution to the original equation. As you can see, the x-intercept is 35, verifying our solution.
