Converting Percentages to Fractions

Recall that 1% = . To
convert a percentage to a fraction, simply convert 1% to . To convert a percentage to a decimal, simply convert 1% to .01.
- Example:
- Convert 0.7822% to a fraction.
- Answer:
- 0.7822% can be written 0.7822 1% and 0.7822
1% can be written and it in turn can be multiplied by 1.

Now reduce the simple fraction.

- Example:
- Convert 0.7822% to a decimal.
- Answer:
- 0.7822% can be written 0.7822 1% = 0.7822
0.01 = 0.007822.
