Compound Fractions: Problem 3

Rule 27:
A compound fraction is sometimes called a mixed number.

Problem 3:
Add the following numbers and convert the answer to a simple fraction:

tex2html_wrap_inline77 .

Answer:
tex2html_wrap_inline79 .

Solution:
Rewrite the problem as tex2html_wrap_inline81 .
Combine the whole numbers and combine the fractions.

Use your calculator to check your answer.
