Rule 6: Properties of the Number 1

Multiplying any number by 1 does not change the value of the number. Dividing any number by 1 does not change the value of the number..

Example 1: 3 x 1 = 3

Example 2: (-8) x 1 = -8

Example 3: 0 x 1 = 0
