Rule 6: Properties of the Number 1

**Multiplying any number by 1 does not change the value of the
number. Dividing any number by 1 does not change the value of the
number..**

**Example 1:** 3 x 1 = 3

**Example 2:** (-8) x 1 = -8

**Example 3:** 0 x 1 = 0

answer. Division by zero is not allowed.
