I Have A Work Sheet That Has Questions Like This

2x + 3y = 6
M=______ B=_______

Can Someone Explain To Me How To Do This Step-By-Step Because I Have No Clue..

The slope-intercept form is y=mx+b, so the method is to solve for y in terms of x.

"emlynn7", did you figure it out yet?

Given the original equation:

2x + 3y = 6

Get the y variable on one side of the equation by itself:

3y = -2x + 6

Then get y by itself by dividing through the entire equation by 3:

y = (-2/3)x + 2

This equation is now in the form y = mx + b.
Can you now identify m and b?

It's unfortunate that your teacher didn't explain what M and B are in straight line equation..

Yes, usually they go from standard to slope-intercept with a formula.
