Hey.

Im a bit stuck on solving this equation

(0,1) = a1 (1,1) + a2(2,-2) (the numbers in brackets are eigenvectors)

How do I obtain a1 and a2?

do the following computation.

a1 = (1,1).(0,1) / ||(1,1)||^2

a2 = (2,-2).(0,1) / ||(2,-2)||^2

Here . is the dot product and || . || is the norm. Hope this helps.
