How do you enter the content for a book. I did it using \addcontents. But then it entered only chapters. I need to get the introduction also, without chapter number. so i did it like this \addtocontents{toc}{Introduction}. Then it didnot give page number for introduction.

How do I enter properly table of content?

Try \tableofcontents
You have to run LaTeX two or three times...

I have another problem with the numbering pages. I tried from google but I didn't get correct one.

I want to take page numbers from Introduction. So I entered \pagestyle{empty} before the content and before the first chapter \pagestyle{plain}. But it shows that page numebrs from the content.

What is the command do I need to use?
