I need a help for this problem.

I am writing my thesis. So I want to say some theorems to refer in the document.

I mean, in the document,

..... by Theorem 1.2.1, ....

If I change the chapter, theorem number should change.

How do I do that?

In the preamble:

Code:
\newtheorem{thm}{Theorem}[chapter]

In the document:

Code:
\begin{thm}
  Magnificent Moonshine Results
\end{thm}

Yea I know that. But that is not the case am asking. If I want to say to refer a theorem from the document ( may be it s from another chapter), then how do we say n latex.

...... Then by Theorem 1.2.1 there exsits ..

I can just type it by manual. But If I change the chapters it (Theorem 1.2.1) doesn't change.

Maybe this is what you are looking for:

Code:
\begin{thm}\label{thm:moonshine}
  Magnificent Moonshine Results
\end{thm}

Code:
By Theorem~\ref{thm:moonshine}, we know that monsters are scary.

Note the use of \label and \ref to make the theorem numbers consistent.
