Hi,

There doesn't seem to be an easy-to-find answer to this question. I want to simply write down an expression with multiple integrals, each having its own limit. The key is that I want to use the nicer \int \iint \iiint, etc. of the amsmath package.

Using the regular \limits, this is the best you can do,

\displaystyle \int\limits_a^b \int\limits_c^d \int\limits_e^f \int\limits_g^h,

where there is a gap between the integrals.

But, \iint, \iiint, ...
\displaystyle \iiiint\limits_a^b

doesn't allow for multiple limits.

It's not a huge deal, but I have several quad-integrals and it's making for a messy formatting unless I can bring those integrals together.

You can insert thin backspaces (\!) between the integrals to make them as close as you want. The code \displaystyle \int\limits_a^b \!\!\!\int\limits_c^d \!\!\!\int\limits_e^f \!\!\!\int\limits_g^h gives \displaystyle \int\limits_a^b \!\!\!\int\limits_c^d \!\!\!\int\limits_e^f \!\!\!\int\limits_g^h.

If you're doing this on a large scale then you'll want to use a macro, such as
Code:
\def\quadint#1#2#3#4#5#6#7#8{\displaystyle \int\limits_{#1}^{#2} \!\!\!\int\limits_{#3}^{#4} \!\!\!\int\limits_{#5}^{#6} \!\!\!\int\limits_{#7}^{#8}}
