I guess only moderators can have "Sticky" posts, am I right? Anyway, I was thinking to create a personal Sticky thread in Algebra and Number Theory forum. The subject would be something like "Selected Problems And Solutions". So I'd regularly (or should I say whenever I've got time) post problems (and their solutions or some hints) in mostly undergraduate algebra and maybe number theory. So, I don't know, I think it'd useful for interested viewers. What do you think? Is it possible? And is it a good idea or I'm just crazy? lol

It has been my experience, that--despite any other topics already present--users that might benefit from such a topic (assuming it is intended for student understanding and not creative/challenge-like problems) will not look at them. They usually post their question, wait for a response, use this information--some more interested in understanding than others--and continue with their lives.

I think this is a great idea. The content would be an excellent supplement for students currently taking undergraduate level mathematics.

Thanks bidentate. Shadow, the thread would be for those who'd like to see different techinques used to solve algebra problems. So I'd post problems and I'd give solutions or hints myself. Nothing like what we have in Proposed Problems forum. It's like say you study group theory but you'd like to see some useful solved problems so you can learn. I'm not going to post challenging problems. No, nothing like that. Challenging algebra problems are all really scarry! lol

Hmm. I know I'd like to see such a resource myself, but I don't think sticky posts in the corresponding forums is appropriate, given the cyberboard (at least in those areas) is primarily geared towards helping students with problems. If there's enough support for it, I'd support a new forum for such a thing, and I'd have no problem moderating as well (not that we have all that many issues with such things usually).
