"I found a much better math forum where tutors are friendly and do help me with questions. The tutors on your site are rude and have no courtesy whatsoever."

So we don't win Miss Congeniality. None of the sites that I have seen come close to matching the level of talent that SOS math has, not just in helping with advanced questions, but also in explaining elementary concepts. (I'm not so bold as to include myself among the real mathematicians here). If someone is just looking for human calculators to provide answers to their homework delivered with words of reassurance and encouragement, I don't know how to compete with that or if we should even try.

And besides, for my money, it's hard to beat the pure entertainment value of Mr. Fantastic's bedside manner.

I think the kindness of the response is reflected in the quality of the original post, as trivial as that may seem. People are more willing to explain and go into depth if they feel like theyre actually HELPING someone. From what ive noticed, people with somewhat respectful and humble attitudes who refuse to be spoon fed the answer are met with great generosity, whereas those who post "Solve x^3 + 7x^2- 9 =0" are naturally met with some resentment on the tutors side. Nothing is more frustrating to a teacher than to discover that their students dont care to understand or actually learn what is being taught to them...

Lesson learned : One person's inability to deal with some resentment doesnt make us all jerks :P, just a few :D

Have any of the 100 been an attempt at being helpful? Those who only take, generally are not very happy with whatever is provided.

Oddly, I wasn't posting much back in November/December. That's weird. Must have been complaining about someone else.

Hi!

Es ist alles in Ordnung bei mir. Ich habe im Moment viel zu viel zu tun, aber ich bin zufrieden.
