Two cars are traveling from point A to point C, moving with uniform motion throughout the entire trip. Point B is inbetween A and C. The distance from A to B is 25 km, and from B to C is 40 km. Car one leaves A at 12:00 and hits B at 12:20. Car 2 leaves A at 12:10 and hits B at 12:27. Which car will arrive at point C first?
Yet another tricky one. I said that they would both hit C at virtually the same time given that Car 1 goes 25km/20min or 1.25 km/min and Car 2 goes 25 km/17 min or 1.47 km/min. 40 km/17 min = 2 min and 40 km/20 min = 2 min. Given that the motion is uniform, don't they hit at the same time?
