Hi,
There is a mistake in Soroban's working.
Quote:
Hence, sec(A) = sqrt(10)/3
and sec^2(A) = 10/9


The correct working should be:
sec(A)=sqrt(10)/1
and sec^2(A)=10

Hence dx/dt = (10)(pi/3) = 10(pi)/3 km/min

Also, Mother Goose's value for A=1.24 radians is only an approximation rounded off to 2 decimal places.
In fact A=1.249045772......
If this value is substituted into
dx/dt=pi/3 * ( 1 / cos^2(A) ) , we will get
dx/dt=pi/3 * ( 1 / cos^2(1.249045772..) )
=10pi/3
which is the answer required.
