I know this might sound crazy but I need help.

what is the answer of the following

(3 + x)ᵃ =

it is to the power a
The a is not that visible.

The other one is
By using the method of completing the square
3 - ½x - ¼x² can be written as

The first one is the binomial theorem, the second one do you know how to complete the square?
