I don't know if this is the right forum to post this, but here it is:

Can anyone explain why 0b=11, or a value close to 11?

Thanks

My guess: it's 11 in a base greater than 11 (hex?)

Don't be silly, the highest education by any of the Clampett's was the 5th grade, which Jethro graddyated from. Hogwarts looks like it starts around the 7th grade (13 year-olds start there).

Thanks Helmut, you must be right.

But don't we just write 'B' for 11, instead of '0b'?

Context is helpful, just a b would be quite confusing.

0x0b is probably better (although that might be interpreted as a vertical tab).
